Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

About the Prayer

The prayer was given to us by Jesus and we use the version that is taken from the Gospel of Matthew. I will put links to some places that explain the Our Father in greater detail as soon as I get the time. It was a response to the request of the deciples for Jesus to teach them how to pray.

Matthew 6:9-13

"This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one.
